A: The Crown Card is a non-payment card based rewards program offering points for qualifying purchases on fuel and in store items. Points can be redeemed for a variety of in-store items or fuel discounts at the pump. Redemption items and discounts will vary by promotion period. A: Follow the prompts on the Duchess website to reach the Crown Card consumer site. Once there, you’ll need to set up your participant profile with a username and password. You will also be asked to set up security question(s) and answer(s) for password retrieval. Once you create your profile you will log in with your username and password, which will enable you to view your current point balance, earnings history, and demographic information provided at the time of registration. Online redemption capabilities are not an available feature of the consumer website; you must be present at the participating Duchess location to redeem points.
Customers can also register their Crown Card in any Duchess location by filling out the registration form at any participating site. Once the form is completed, the customer can give the form to any Duchess representative and it will be sent to corporate to be entered into the system. Please note, this process may take up to 7-10 business days to complete.
Q: What are the benefits of registering my card?
A: Customers who register their card are able to track their purchases and point balances via the Duchess website. Customers also receive 1500 bonus points just for registering (note, this could take up to 7-10 business days to load onto the card). Registered customers also have perks of being entered into the Royal Sweepstakes, gold member perks and so on.
A: Simply use your Crown Card at any participating Duchess for your purchases. You will earn points based on your qualifying purchases inside or at the pump for instant savings. Earn 20 points for every $1 spent inside any Duchess on qualifying items and earn 20 points for every gallon pumped at any Duchess. There will also be specially marked bonus items in store that will help you earn even more points. You will earn points as long as your account is in good standing e.g.: not suspended or otherwise inactive and not available for use.
A: Excluded items include, but are not limited to, tobacco, alcohol, lottery, money orders, prepaid phone cards and/or gift cards. All other in store items qualify toward earning points.
A: Point balances are always available on your purchase receipts, the consumer website, http://www.duchessshoppe.com and/or you may ask any Duchess sales associate to check your balance for you.
Q: How do I know what membership level I am?
A: You are a bronze member by just being a Crown Card holder. Bronze members enjoy instant savings and Crown Club member perks. If you register your Crown Card you move to the Silver Member level, whereby you earn 1,500 bonus points and are eligible for Duchess monthly sweepstakes. If you spend $50* or more inside any Duchess during the month, you’ve automatically made it to our highest level of membership, Gold, whereby you will earn double points for all purchases* the following month. You will be able to track your spend level online and your in store receipt will indicate when you’ve reached this status.
*$50 spend is limited to inside purchases only, excluding the following items: tobacco, alcohol, lottery, money orders, gift cards, pre paid cards and fuel.
Q: What constitutes as a month for double rewards as a gold member?
A: When a customer spends $50.00 or more inside any Duchess throughout a given month, they will receive Gold Member’s perks the following month. Eligible timeframe for that $50 spend will be from the 26th on the previous month to the 25th of the current month.
Q: What products will I receive double points on as a gold member?
A: Gold members will receive double points on all qualifying base purchase items, but they will not receive double points on bonus items.
A: Based on current available redemption promotions and the availability of sufficient points in your account to qualify for a particular redemption, you will be prompted by the Point of Sale system (POS) during the time of the transaction to redeem. This works inside at the register as well as outside at the pump.
A: Your rewards account must have the sufficient number of Points available to be prompted to redeem or you will not be offered redemption(s).
Q: Do my points expire?
A: Yes. Your points will expire twelve (12) months after the date on which they were earned on the last day of that month. For example, if you earned points on June 10, 2014, those points would expire June 30, 2015.
Q: Is there a limit to how many points I can redeem in a single purchase?
A: If you are redeeming your points for an in store purchase, you will use the amount of points that are needed for that redemption item. For example, you have 1000 points and want to redeem a free medium coffee. In this case you will use 950 points for the coffee and 50 points will remain on your Crown Card.
The same goes for redeeming discounts on a fuel purchase. For example, you have 2000 points and want to redeem 10 cents off per gallon. In this case you will use 1500 points for the fuel discount and the 500 points will remain on your Crown Card.
Q: Is there a limit to how many items I can redeem at a time?
A: If a cardholder is eligible for two or more in store product redemptions, only one of the redemption offers will be made. The system will determine which redemption provides the best value to the customer and the register will prompt for that item.
If the cardholder is eligible for a fuel redemption and a in store product redemption, the system will both redemption offers will be made to the customer regardless of pressing YES or NO to the first prompt.
Q: Is there a limit to how many gallons I can get when redeeming fuel discounts?
A: Yes. Fuel discounts are good for up to 25 gallons in a single transaction. In the event that you have accumulated enough points to exceed the retail price of fuel, the pump will not roll back to zero. If you’re eligible for a full tank of fuel, the pump will roll back to $.09 per gallon and you will be responsible for the amount.
Q: How do I use my Crown Card at the pump?
A: Simply insert your Crown Card before your method of payment and follow the prompts.
Q: How do I use my Crown Card inside Duchess?
A: Simply insert your Crown Card before your method of payment, when prompted by the Duchess sales associate. The key tag card can also be scanned for use inside.
Q: Will my points ever be on hold or locked on my card?
A: When a redemption of an in store product or fuel is offered to customers for a potion of their balance, that portion is placed on “hold” or “locked” down. This can be seen when reviewing the customer’s rewards account as “Balance” and “Available to redeem”. If the customer accepts the offer for redemption, than at the end of the transaction the points will be deducted from the customer’s account. If the customer declines the redemption offer, the amount on hold stays locked for 60 minutes but the points will not be deducted from the customer’s account. This is a process that must take place in order to prevent fraud.
Q: How does the Royal Sweepstakes work?
A: Every time a registered customer’s Crown Card is swiped they are entered into our monthly Royal sweepstakes drawing. Duchess will give away multiple prizes each month to randomly selected winners. More information can be found through the link at the bottom of the page or on the Duchess website, including a list of prizes and terms and conditions of the program.
Q: What if I forget my Crown Card; can I still earn and redeem points?
A: If you have your key tag card you will be able to earn and redeem points inside the store when the cashier scans your key tag card. In order to earn and redeem at the pump, you will need to swipe your full size Crown Card for any rewards transactions. Note you must have your key tag card or full size card present to complete a rewards transaction. Points cannot be added once a transaction is complete, so it is important to swipe or scan your card at the beginning of every transaction.
Q: Can I get a duplicate card to match my current card number?
A: At this time, duplicate full size and/or key tag Crown Cards are not available. Because each individual customer has unique shopping habits, we encourage you to have your own personal number. By doing this, we will be able to provide you will special offer and incentives.
Q: What do I do if my card is lost or stolen?
A: If you’re Crown Card is registered, we are able to transfer your points to a new card. Simply email us at crowncard@duchessshoppe.com or call 1-844-79-CROWN with your lost or stolen card number on hand and we’ll be more than happy to help. Unfortunately if your card is not registered we are not able to transfer points to a new card.
